Welcome to my Blog.    Being over 50 does not mean we have to sit on the couch and wait for the grim reaper.

I like the idea of getting in shape and staying in shape and trying not to look like my average peer.  Earlier this year at the beginning of the climbing season I tore a rotator cuff and had to cut back climbing and do softer grades and limit any strength building for most of the summer.  I  am not a bodybuilder or long distance runner or triathlete.  Actually I am opposed to endurance sports and will try to link to some info to support this.

I have all the tools ( I think) to track my progress.   What I want to do is:

get stronger in basic lifts.  More detail to come

climb and redpoint one or two 5.11a climbs

drop some bodyfat

add some musle

With all these goals I would also like to see if I can get in ketosis as I eat mostly paleo.    I will recommend some good books and ideas I support.  I have read that mostly one cannot gain any mass in ketosis while others have opposed this view.

The tools I have are:

Ultra sonic body fat tester
Glucose strips
Blood Ketone strips
Regular scale.
